Eight years of my wonderful boy 💛

This cake definitely didn’t turn out how I originally envisioned it! After a complete disaster with some black fondant 😂, I had to rethink the whole design and go back to the drawing board.

I wanted something bold, colourful and abstract, with big, simple shapes and strong contrast, designed with his visual impairment in mind. Rather than lots of small details, I kept the decoration deliberately clear and graphic, using colours and patterns he enjoys.

It may not be the cake I set out to make, but I think it ended up being a pretty perfect cake for him. 💛

🐷🚜🌼 A sweet little farmyard to celebrate Erin turning TWO! 🌼🚜🐮

This adorable 2nd birthday cake was created for Erin and was such a fun design to finish before I take a little summer break.

🍰 2 layers of vanilla sponge
🧁 Vanilla buttercream and jam filling
🤍 White chocolate ganache outer coat
🪵 Handcrafted fondant fence
🐷🐮🐥 Farm animals and barn kindly provided by the client

As this cake heads off to its celebration, it also marks my last client bake before my son Charlie (the inspiration behind Charlie’s Cake Tin!) starts his summer holidays.

I just want to say a huge thank you to everyone who has trusted me to create cakes for your special occasions over the past few months. From birthdays to celebrations of all kinds, it’s been such a privilege to be part of your memories. I’ve loved letting my creativity run wild and bringing so many unique cake ideas to life.

Charlie’s Cake Tin will be taking a little break throughout July and August, and I’ll be back baking when the school term begins again in September.

In the meantime, my diary is open, so if you’d like to secure a date for a September celebration (or beyond), please feel free to send me a DM and book in advance.
