It is that time of year again and we are finalising our 2027 calendar.

We have kept the layout the same as the last couple of years and have chosen to stick with all local photos (Cork and Kerry) - including historical buildings, landscapes and country life.

We regret that this year we were, unfortunately, unable to find a charity to get on board so we were unsure whether to proceed... however the work was put into it and it is nice to have it for the christmas markets etc.

Thank you for your support, we are excited to get to print... and hope you love it as much as we do!

Gougane Barra, Cork Ireland

On the 25th of September we celebrate our patron saint of Cork, St. Finbarr. This is not only because he originated near our own village of Crookstown, County Cork, but also for his contribution to what we now call Cork city.

Here are a few of our favourite pics of his beloved Gougane Barra. There is no doubt but it is a majestic part of the world.

We will be uploading these to our Etsy shop ASAP.

We had a great day out in Castletown Kinneigh last Sunday for the Fastest Junior on Grass / Ger O Donovan memorial cup day.

It has been 20 years since James was racing on that track himself so it was nice to be there, camera in hand, to enjoy the sport on the other side of the barrier.

Blackberry Jam Recipe

For us, blackberry picking is one Irish tradition we never skip. In fact, nearly every walk we take in August and September we come home with purple hands. However, it is tedious and we often have eaten our spoils before we ever arrive home.
To find the time to pick enough berries, before the dreaded rain ruins the fruit or the arrival of Michaelmas Day (29th of Sept), after which Irish folklore tells us the "púka" or bad fairies have cursed the berries, is not always easy but it is definitely worth it.
This jam is very easy to make and lasts for 6 to 12 months in the fridge or another cool dark place.
Enjoy!

Every successful harvest requires time, care and patience...

Currently, we are putting the time into figuring what works best for Teach Áine Captures and finding the right balance for ourselves and our family. For now, this involves focusing less on social media and giving more attention to shops and markets.

We are very lucky to have a selection of our photographs on display and available for purchase the beautiful , both framed and unframed.

We are also working on our Etsy shop... we are hoping to have restocked, both old and new, in the coming month.

Finally, we are prepping, dare we say it, for local Christmas markets... and will hopefully have time for more of them this year.

Meanwhile, all photos on this page are our own and are available to purchase directly. Just throw us a DM for order/inquiries.

Thank you for your continued support,
James and Denise

Doting lambs, Kerry, Ireland.

Life is too short to hide your affections.

We caught this picture perfect moment a last year when testing out our new lens and it made us stop in our tracks. So often PDAs are considered gaudy and lacking class. However, here in its purest form, nature is showing us that it can be the most beautiful and personal thing in the world. For most people, it's not about parading your love or ownership of another. It's about not wanting to let a moment pass that your loved one doesn't feel appreciated. May it be a partner, parent, child or friend... Life is too short to be holding back any affections. Enjoy the moment together, no matter where they occur.

Hawthorn in blossom, Kerry, Ireland

The whole world blossoms when we respect culture and remember tradition.

The hawthorn/ the whitethorn/ the fairy tree is traditionally regarded as a sacred tree in Ireland. It is thought that this native Irish tree shelters fairies and spirits and so to cut it down would bring misfortune. To this day you will often see a hawthorn standing alone in the middle of a field, undisturbed. We love to see old traditions still thriving, even in todays busy world. When we show respect to all cultures, not only our own, the whole world blossoms. We can celebrate our differences together.
