Delighted to offer the Introduction to Wool Spinning Workshop.
Saturday 29th August | 10:00am – 4:00pm
📍 Creggs Heritage Centre, F42 X674
Join me for a relaxed day learning the traditional craft of wool spinning. Whether you've never touched a spinning wheel before or you're simply curious about how yarn is made, this workshop is designed for complete beginners and improvers with plenty of step-by-step tuition throughout the day.
We'll begin by exploring beautiful Irish wool and learning the basics of fibre preparation before using a drop spindle to spin your very first yarn. Once you've mastered the fundamentals, you'll move on to spinning on a traditional spinning wheel.
All spinning wheels, equipment and materials are provided, so all you need to bring is your enthusiasm! If you already have your own spinning wheel, you're very welcome to bring it along. I'm also happy to help with basic wheel adjustments, troubleshooting and maintenance during the day.
€90 per person.
Includes all materials, equipment and light refreshments. Please bring your own lunch.
