Hello everyone, for the next few days I’ll introduce the artists exhibiting at V***A STORIES. With the theme “connections” this year, I’ll also give you a brief background of my relationship with each of them as they are all women I personally know connection with - you don’t apply to be part of V***A STORIES - I invite you to share your story. I’ll start with myself, the mastermind behind it all. Tamara Fiabane is my name and I’m originally from Northen Italy - however, 30 odd years ago I left to follow my dreams & life adventures that eventually brought be to settle down here in Co Wicklow. During my childhood, I was predominantly surrounded by crafty and talented strong women. They all that worked with their hands, tailors, seamstress, growers and jack of all trades, who reused and repurposed everything. Growing up in that environment gave me a chance from a very young age to learn many skills, sewing, knitting, growing veg, cooking, cutting fabric the right way etc…basically everything that I do these days. I love sharing my skills, creating art and involve community of like minded people that are just friends that haven’t met yet. I work with many mediums, felting is my passion, but I sew, knit, spin, crochet, work with wood, recycle beads and jewelleries etc etc etc…I just like to bring my skills to communities and get people together to learn and share in a joyful environment…come and check out the exhibition to see more of what I/we do as a collective together …I’m really grateful to all those beautiful women that brought me up …love them all dearly!
