What a lovely evening at Villa Pacis in Bray, where participants got creative learning traditional weaving techniques to make their very own eco-friendly willow bird feeders💚It was a wonderful opportunity to slow down, get hands-on with natural materials and connect with nature, while creating something beautiful to welcome birds into our gardens. 🪶🌱

This activity took place at the SSS Stop Smoking Support group monthly meeting (like AA for ex-smokers), providing ongoing support for anyone who has quit/wants to quit. The meeting takes place on the last Tuesday of every month, and often features hands-on activities as well as tea and chats. To join call/text Karen on (083) 334 2590 or email [email protected].

We can’t wait to see those bird feeders out in gardens around Bray, providing a little extra food and shelter for our local wildlife. 🐦💚

Closing my NCAD chapter feels both surreal and deeply grounding. Stepping into the MA in Art & Social Action was a leap into new ways of thinking, making, listening, and collaborating. I’m leaving with a fuller sense of myself as an artist — one shaped by community, ecology, bilingual practice, and the people who walked this journey with me.

Grateful for every conversation, critique, challenge, and moment of connection. Grateful for the mentors who held space, and the peers who made the work richer.

Onwards now, carrying the learning into the next phase — rooted, ready, and excited for what’s emerging.

Feeding the Birds, Weaving the Land – We had a great day:)
Kids explored the magic of nature at this Cruinniú na nÓg workshop, learning how traditional craft skills while discovering how small actions can help local wildlife. After a chat about birds, habitats and why feeders matter, everyone gets hands on with fresh willow rods, learning to bend, twist and weave them into their own hanging bird feeder for seeds or fat balls. Each young maker brought home their finished feeder along with simple tips for placing and caring for it, making this a creative, eco friendly adventure that connects imagination with the natural world.
