A very special commissioned piece.

Pegasus symbolises freedom, strength, and inspiration, representing the power to rise above challenges.

It is also associated with imagination, dreams, and reaching new heights.

Thank you to my lovely friend for trusting me with the creation of this magical piece.
I loved creating it.
I hope it brings as much joy to you as it brought me. ✨️🪽💖

If you are thinking of adding some magic to your home, get in touch with me and we can discuss it. ✨️💕💖

Painting Pegasus, and an impromptu hair styling session!

Painting the little details around the eyes and nose made a huge difference. I found myself returning to paint it many times, to add this or change that. I finally reached a pointl where I was happy with it, but there will always be room for improvement. I think we are our own harshest critics. 🙈😂

I loved exploring materials for clouds. I wanted to create the illusion of Pegasus galloping out of the clouds, and after some trial and error I think it looked good.

Finding a suitable material for the horse maine was equally challenging. I went from real feathers, to string, to thread, to wool, to twine and back to thread again😊 💈 After a salon treatment, detangling and cut, the hair was attached to Pegasus head.

What would you have chosen to create faux horse hair? Let me know in the comments!

And be sure to follow along to see the final part and full reveal of this special commissioned piece.

The amazing 94% solar eclipse as seen from Carrowniskey beach, Co.Mayo on 12/8/26

I was happy to help plan and prepare for the day.

Special thanks to the Louisburgh Area Mens Shed for the loan of their gazebo and to Rosaire at Louisburgh Community Futures for the loan of the tea and coffee canisters.

Thank you so much to everyone who made the day so memorable 💖

There was a lot of build up to it in the media in the previous days and weeks, and sometimes it makes us forget the bigger picture:
We are literally on this floating rock, rotating around a giant sun, in a massive universe for such a short time.
Don't stress the small stuff, and its all small stuff. ✨️✨️💖

Finding the right type of shells for the wings was fun.

I first tried mussel shells, as I had made wings from these in a previous project. But they didn't look quite right. So I tried these thin tellin shells.
These are bivalves, small clam like shells, but they are smooth and kind of triangular in shape. I had a few in my collection, but needed a few more, so gathered these over a few days at Old Head Beach.

These shells are very fine, delicate and easily broken, but they created the most perfect shapes for the wings. Once they were glued in place, and left to set, I gave them a couple coats of paint.

Then the skies gave me some amazing inspiration for my background 🪽✨️

For this I experimented with inks, oils and acrylics. I didn't record much of this process as I was completely absorbed in it! 😁 I will definitely be creating with the inks again, and I will try to remember to protect my workspace next time 😂😂

The thought and time they spend when out walking along the shore, and spotting something they think I might use in my art, is really priceless to me. I am forever grateful to them.

I LOVE going through each tiny treasure.
Each piece is so unique and has a story to tell.

I am so inspired to get creating more pieces.
