Call me nostalgic… but this was a project that felt significant. Because, these are the first wedding envelopes I’ve hand-lettered in a decade. ✨

I don’t usually take on projects like these (and I don’t advertise wedding calligraphy as one of my services), but this was a project for myself as much as it was for the lovely couple who contacted me. 👰🏻‍♀️🤵🏻‍♂️

There were 80 envelopes in total! So it was quite labour-intensive 💌💌💌 But I enjoyed the process thoroughly: getting back to the practice of calligraphy and spending some “me time” where I just switched off.

If you’re curious about my methods, check out my blog post called Calligraphy for Envelopes ✨💌✨

And if you’re interested in learning the easiest method there is, known as faux calligraphy - grab my free PDF. Just comment “faux” and I’ll send it right to you!

You all have been so encouraging in your feedback 🥹✨

In my survey, I have been asking you:
- Whether you have been or intend to learn calligraphy at one of my workshops, and
- Whether or not you would benefit from some online learning

And, from what I’m reading, many of you have an appetite for learning online 💡

There are definitely two groups emerging:
💻 Those who would like to learn online to make my classes more accessible (travel to Galway and weekday classes are an issue for some)
👩‍🎓 Those who do better with in-person coaching in a classroom setting

So, I’m coming up with some flexible options that I hope will embrace both styles of learning.
More to come soon ☺️

And if you haven’t yet entered the survey, you can hit the link in bio called Help me help you 🫶In doing so, you could be in with a chance to win an original piece of calligraphy art from me 💌

Also, to those of you who have entered, your additional words of support mean so much to me 🥹 GRMMA! 💗

It’s the scoop you’ve been waiting for! 🧐

My latest blog post goes into detail about how I created all the calligraphy elements for my wedding 10 years ago. 💍💒

Some pieces were large, some were small, some took hours and hours of practice, and others I did with ease!

In the blog, I share my methods, the level of effort required, and an honest critique of the results. 🫣 Be warned: I didn’t love all of them but maybe I’m being overly critical!

👰🏻‍♀️ So, if you’re a bride planning your wedding or you are just interested in calligraphy in general, grab a cuppa and give it a read. You never know, there might be something useful in there for you. The link is in my bio!

I’m working on new designs for calligraphy art and manifestation mantras like these give me such a boost 🌸

Especially when they’re written in pretty ink and positioned in a nice frame 🖼️

Now, please share your favourite manifestation mantras, because I’m curious… ✨😉 Drop a comment below ⬇️

After 15th April, Calligraphy Workshops are taking a break… to recalibrate 🔧

I adore teaching workshops, but I am not sure that they are serving you, the ones who want to learn calligraphy. ✍️

🫠 For starters, they are in Galway - where many of you are not.

🗺️ They give you a start with calligraphy, but no follow-up plan.

🥱 I host them on a week night - anyone else working too hard to stay awake on week nights?

Look, they aren’t all bad. 💙 Plenty of you have shown up to my workshops full of excitement and enthusiasm and we have had a great time. But, I know I can do better. And for this, I need your help…

So, If you could do me one favour today, please pop to the link in my bio and click “Help me help you

Grateful to be preparing the lesson for this week’s workshop on Celtic Calligraphy! 💚

I really appreciate all the interest that’s been shown so far - even to hear from those of you who can’t make it this week but will be there when I run it again. 🫶

Big love, grá mór!

Celtic calligraphy is so uniquely beautiful 💚 And it may come as a surprise that you don’t need any expensive or complicated tools to create it!

How many of us have one of these calligraphy pens stored away at home? They are so widely available in stationery shops everywhere. ✒️

If you’re interested in learning more, I have a workshop coming up this Thursday, 19th March, at hotel in Galway.

Come and learn all about this beautiful Irish script and produce something lovely to take home with you. 💚

1,000 followers, I can’t believe it. I am so thrilled to have you here! My name is Louise, I’m a part-time calligraphy teacher and self-love advocate. 🫶🏻

If you’re new to my page, here are…

✨5 things you might not know about me✨

1️⃣ - I used to have an Irish accent. I was born in Co. Galway, but my family moved to Essex when I was 4 and my accent changed when I started primary school. We moved home to Ireland 30 years ago now, so I think the English accent is well and truly stuck 🥹

2️⃣ - I can speak French and Spanish (but rarely use them). They were two of my major subjects in University and I went on work-abroad and study-abroad programs to get good at both. I don’t use them much at all though - and I don’t think “singing along to Despacito with more confidence than is justified” was the goal 😅 Oh, well.

3️⃣ - I am rocking my natural hair colour. I ditched the dye in March 2020 and started my grow out in the relative privacy of lockdown. I also started the curly girl method to encourage my natural curls back and to get rid of the damage caused by many years of straightening. I highly recommend embracing the grey if you’re thinking about it! I’ve saved money, time, and all that silly worrying about grey roots showing. Come on, silver sisters! YOLO 👩🏻‍🦳

4️⃣ - I work in Cybersecurity. Hah! Bet you weren’t expecting that. By day, I am a User Experience Writer, so I craft the words on screen and the online help documentation. I suppose it sort of lends itself to teaching calligraphy - it’s all about words and clear communication, after all! 💻

5️⃣ - I’m a houseplant hoarder - I have more houseplants than I can responsibly look after. At my last count, my houseplants outnumbered humans in my home by 12:1. Is that an unhealthy obsession? I can’t say for sure that it’s not. 🪴 I do love them though.

Did any of these surprise you? Drop a comment 👇

Thank you so much for being here! 💗

Louise 💙
