We were very busy in the kitchen today fine tuning our recipes for the Roscommon Agricultural Show cookery demo on this Saturday. Lilly Mae, Cara, Beth and Emily will be baking some lunchbox fillers and a quick and easy nutritious dinner for us using fresh, local, seasonal ingredients. A hard act to follow…but I will then be following on with some lovely tasty traditional and seasonal favourites in the cookery tent. Delighted to welcome and his wife Una for a little Soda Bread and Jam making experience in Margaret’s Kitchen. Finishing off their weekend in Ireland's Hidden Heartlands , they were ready to don their aprons and fight for the star baker title….it was a draw! Loaves of love and Jars full of memories made with these very special ladies from Minnesota today. A family affair as sisters and daughters enjoyed making bread, scones and a seasonal Jam, after which they enjoyed some Irish cheeses and chutneys with their bakes.
