Craft Ribbon and More Ireland

Small business post:

Planning wedding decorations, favours, invitations or car ribbon?

I’ve put together a practical guide on buying wedding ribbon in Ireland, based on what I actually stock and what customers often ask me about.

It covers useful ribbon widths, popular wedding colours like cream, ivory, white, burgundy and sage green, and the kind of things ribbon can be used for, from wedding cars and venue decoration to favour boxes, gift wrapping and invitations.

Ribbon rarely goes to waste, and for weddings it is usually better to have a little extra than to run short on the day.

🎀 What’s a Woodturner Doing Selling Ribbon?

Fair question. If you are new to this page, I'll try and answer.

A lot of my handmade woodcraft pieces need finishing touches, and ribbon has been part of that for years, whether it’s hanging decorations, gift wrapping, presentation boxes or small handmade gifts.

Over time, I started stocking craft supplies because I was already using them myself and I knew how useful they were for makers, crafters and gift wrappers.

I previously had a lot of trouble sourcing good-quality craft supplies in Ireland without items being backordered or delayed. Selling them myself felt like a natural progression.

I take pride in the fact that when something is marked in stock on my website, it is actually here in my store, not listed as filler to grab sales.

So alongside my woodturning work, I now keep a large range of satin ribbon, organza ribbon, bows, gift bags, embellishments and other craft supplies here in Ireland.

And because shipping has become expensive, my website is set up so larger baskets gradually reduce the delivery cost. If you need a few ribbons, bows, bags or embellishments together, it usually works out better value to order them at the same time.

A slightly unusual mix, maybe, but it all started with making things by hand.
