"In Search of Lost Splendour" by Deepshikha Kalsi sheds light on the often-overlooked realm of carpet studies in India, emphasizing the significance of preserving and understanding the Jaipur carpet corpus. Through a compelling quote, Kalsi underscores the urgent need to safeguard this cultural heritage, highlighting the potential loss to the nation if these treasures fade into obscurity.

Deepshikha Kalsi, an independent art conservator and founder of the Textile Conservation Studio, New Delhi, brings a wealth of expertise to her work. Trained in textile conservation at prestigious institutions such as the Victoria and Albert Museum, London, and the Abegg Stiftung, Bern, Kalsi has dedicated over two decades to crafting conservation solutions for museums and private collections across India. Her contributions extend to academia, as she serves as Visiting Faculty at the National Museum Institute, New Delhi, and as assistant coordinator of the Textile Working Group for the International Council of Museums.
