HERITAGE WALK
In collaboration with Nakul Chhabra
Presented by History Beyond Books x Varaha Heritage
Some of Delhi’s finest stories are not in the monuments everyone knows. They sit in quiet corners, behind crumbling walls and under old domes.
Join us for a 3-hour Heritage Walk through Mehrauli Archaeological Park, where tombs, mosques and stepwells from different centuries stand side by side.
Beyond the Ruins is about the people behind the stone. Walking with Nakul Chhabra, we will follow the rulers, poets, builders and ordinary Delhiites who left their mark here, and discover how one layer of the city grew out of another.
Unhurried, intimate and full of stories, it’s a morning for anyone who loves history, architecture or simply a good walk.

At Kailasa Temple, Ellora, the name of its patron is not inscribed on the monument itself. Yet copper-plate records from Gujarat connect King Krishna I of the Rashtrakuta dynasty with a temple at Elapura, the ancient name associated with Ellora.

The evidence is compelling, but not absolute.

And perhaps that makes standing before Kailasa even more remarkable: more than a thousand years later, the monument still speaks for itself.
