Apartments often come with long corridors that are treated as purely functional spaces. In many of our projects, we see them as an opportunity to create a stronger arrival experience.

For this entrance lobby, we focused on four simple moves:

• Layered lighting to create rhythm and reduce the tunnel effect
• A gallery wall to introduce visual pauses along the journey
• A directional flooring pattern to guide movement through the space
• Flush storage to keep everyday clutter hidden while maintaining clean lines

None of these ideas are complicated on their own, but together they can completely change how a corridor feels.

Sometimes kids spaces don’t need more.
Just better decisions.

The idea here was to make the room feel playful without making it feel loud or temporary. Holding certain things back actually made the space feel softer, calmer, and more balanced.

A lot of the character comes from subtle repetition, softer forms, and letting materials do the work instead of overfilling the room.

Wanted it to feel like a space that grows with the person living in it, instead of something they outgrow in a year.

There’s something sacred about a bedroom designed to slow you down. This master sanctuary marries rich walnut veneers with soft neutrals because luxury isn’t loud, it’s layered. Every detail here whispers rather than shouts: the built-in nooks that hold your world, the brass accents that catch morning light, artwork that speaks to your soul.

I always look forward to this.

Being surrounded by art slows me down in a way few things do. I naturally move toward colour and texture and end up lingering on surfaces and quiet details that don’t ask for attention but stay with you.

This is a special renovation project we’re working on at KGD Studio. The brief was to connect the old rustic character of the house with a modern touch, without losing its warmth.

Arches form the backbone of the design. Detailed in hand finished plaster and inspired by Indian architecture, they soften the space and allow the old and new to sit together naturally.

The walls are finished in a soft dusty pink to bring in freshness and light while still feeling earthy and calm. The colour works effortlessly with natural materials and gently highlights the arches without overpowering them.

The space is styled with layered rugs, art pieces, and objects from the client’s own collection, making it feel lived in and personal. Indian elements come through subtly in materials and forms, while the coffee table anchors the room with its brass detailing and sculptural shape, inspired by traditional Indian vessels in a modern expression.
