Bringing the Himalayas inside.
As an architect, the greatest challenge—and the ultimate reward—is designing a space that doesn’t compete with nature, but actively elevates it.
For this proposed luxury vacation rental in Himachal, the design philosophy was all about seamless indoor-outdoor integration. We utilized expansive floor-to-ceiling glazing to frame the panoramic snow-capped peaks, essentially turning the majestic landscape into a dynamic, living canvas for the room.
A few design details from the studio:
Visual Flow: The wooden slatted ceiling is intentionally directional, drawing the eye straight out toward the horizon.
Uninterrupted Views: The glass-enclosed en-suite ensures that natural light floods the space and the mountain view is never obstructed, even from the bath.
Materiality: We grounded the interior with earthy tones, deep woods, and organic textures so the architecture yields to the serene surroundings.
Design is about how a space makes you feel, and this suite is designed for pure, unadulterated tranquility.
