Tawa Paneer recipe 😋😘
Ingredients (Serves 3–4)
250 g paneer (cubed)
1 large onion (finely chopped)
2 medium tomatoes (finely chopped or pureed)
1 small capsicum (sliced)
1–2 green chilies (optional)
1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
1 tsp cumin seeds
½ tsp turmeric powder
1 tsp red chili powder
1 tsp coriander powder
½ tsp garam masala
1 tsp kasuri methi (crushed)
2 tbsp butter + 1 tbsp oil
Salt to taste
Fresh coriander leaves (for garnish)
1 tbsp fresh cream (optional, for richness)
1 tsp lemon juice (optional)
👩🍳 Instructions
1️⃣ Prep the Paneer
Cut paneer into cubes.
Lightly sauté in 1 tsp oil for 1–2 minutes (optional) for a slightly crisp texture. Remove and set aside.
2️⃣ Make the Masala
Heat butter + oil on a tawa or flat pan.
Add cumin seeds and let them splutter.
Add chopped onions and sauté until golden.
Stir in ginger-garlic paste and cook till raw smell disappears.
3️⃣ Add Tomatoes & Spices
Add tomatoes and cook until soft and oil separates.
Mix in turmeric, red chili powder, coriander powder, and salt.
Cook until the masala thickens.
4️⃣ Add Capsicum & Paneer
Add sliced capsicum and cook 2–3 minutes (keep slightly crunchy).
Add paneer cubes and gently mix.
Sprinkle garam masala and crushed kasuri methi.
5️⃣ Finish & Garnish
Add 1 tbsp cream (optional) and a squeeze of lemon.
Cook for 2 more minutes on medium heat.
Garnish with chopped coriander leaves.

💡 Tips for Best Taste
Use fresh, soft paneer for best texture.
Cook on medium-high heat for authentic “tawa” flavor.
Slightly mash a spoonful of paneer into the masala for thicker consistency.
Add a pinch of chaat masala at the end for dhaba-style taste.
