In the workshop of design, we all are eternal students.
And as an architect, I learn to see new requirements as "Oppotunities for Creativity".
Featuring this entrance lobby that is a striking example that uses bold contrast and statement pieces to create a strong first impression.
Here is a detailed breakdown of the interior design elements :
Design Style: Modern Ethnic / Transitional Indian
The space seamlessly blends contemporary architectural lines with traditional Indian craftsmanship. By keeping the overall spatial planning minimal and modern, the intricate, ethnic decorative accents—like the ornate bench and the rustic wall piece—are able to stand out as focal points without cluttering the area.
Color Palette:-
The color scheme relies on high contrast and rich, warm tones:
Deep Crimson / Burgundy: This bold accent wall provides a dramatic backdrop, adding depth, warmth, and a sense of inviting luxury to the entrance.
Matte Black: Here I ve broken the stereotype of the Typical Rectangular Shaped Entrance and converted it into a large arched door that uses a dark, solid finish to create a strong, grounding focal point that contrasts elegantly with the red wall.
Warm Earth Tones: The rich, dark brown of the wooden furniture gives the space an organic, grounded feel.
Green: An indoor plant introduces a refreshing, lively pop of natural color that softens the heavy architectural elements.
Materials:-
The lobby incorporates a rich mix of textures to create visual interest:
Carved Wood: Solid, intricately carved timber is the hero material for the traditional bench and the jharokha-style wall decor. This introduces a heavy, tactile texture and a sense of history to the modern space.
Metals: Metal finishes adds character. Antique-style brass is used for the classic lion-head door knockers and the vintage-style doorbell plate, while more contemporary metal finishes are used on the modern spotlight and sleek door handle.
