He holds the prestigious A class Contract License from the Travancore Devaswom Board for works related to temple construction and renovation. He has undertaken renovation and metal works of almost a 100 temples in Kerala alone. Some of the most famous temples among these include Sabarimala Ayyappa Temple and Pazhavangadi Ganapathi Temple. Besides, he has undertaken works in Mumbai, Kolkata and Andaman & Nicobar Islands. Altogether, during these three decades, he has undertaken almost 250 projects. Mannar Venkalam also manufactures a wide range of handicrafts products such as idols, lamps, utensils and metal figures made of bronze. We are experts in producing traditional lamps made of bronze such as Nilavilakku, Thookkuvilakku, Kodivilakku and Kavaravilakku, which are used extensively in Hindu households and temples for poojas and special ceremonies. Irrespective of religion, bronze lamps are used in special occasions like inauguration, housewarming, wedding etc. Mannar Venkalam & Traditional Handicrafts also produces traditional utensils made of bronze that are used to prepare traditional feast or sadya, such as uruli and varppu, and household utensils including kindi and kinnam. Bronze utensils are traditionally being used for cooking and serving and is believed to have several health benefits. It is said that food cooked in bronze utensils pacifies vata that causes dry skin, nervous temperament and irritability, as well as pitta. It is also said to reduce obesity and is good for eyesight and skin condition. We have our own production unit with expert craftsmen and modern equipment.
