What’s an easy way to make a top or dress smaller?
Take in the sides!
Step 1: try it on inside out
Step 2: safety pin and chalk where it feels comfortable
Step 3: smooth out your chalk lines and sew! Use a basting stitch (~5.0 stitch length!) basting aka tack stitch is a temporary stitch that will be removed later!
Step 4: try it on and adjust if you need it! (Mine was too tight so I chalked out a bit wider area and re-stitched!
Step 5: finishing stitch, use an overlock stitch or serger to cut and hem the new edge!
Step7: Enjoy your new fitted look! 💃
