Mino Bunzan — The Making of Mino Ware

The making of Mino ware
is a process built through many careful steps.

Clay is prepared and kneaded by hand.
Each piece is shaped, dried, and fired with precision.

Patterns are painted onto the surface,
glaze is applied,
and finally the pieces are fired at over 1,200°C.

Through heat, time, and craftsmanship,
the glaze melts —
and the colors come to life.

Every process plays a role
in shaping the final expression of the piece.

At Mino Bunzan,
tradition continues through the hands of artisans.

美濃文山 — 美濃焼ができるまで

土を練り、
形をつくり、
乾燥させ、焼き上げる。

美濃焼は、
いくつもの工程を重ねながら生まれていく。

素焼き、絵付け、施釉。
そして1200〜1300℃の窯の中で、
釉薬が溶け、器に色と表情が宿る。

ひとつの器の裏側には、
多くの手仕事と時間が積み重なっている。

受け継がれてきた技術が、
