My passion is helping people create beautiful, functional spaces that feel like havens.
Six years ago, in my living room, I took a leap of faith and started what would become Muthoni Interior Decor.
At the time, I was a first-time mother with a dream, a growing family, and a vision that demanded courage, consistency, and countless sacrifices. I did not have everything figured out. I learned the logistics on the go, built my systems from scratch, and even shaped my terms of engagement through conversations, polls, and interactions with many of you who have supported this journey from the beginning.
Over the years, we have carefully built an ecosystem of professionals who share the same commitment to excellence. From furniture makers, gypsum and steel fabricators, painters, flooring experts, and tailors, to delivery teams, engineers, architects, and trusted suppliers, we have grown into a team capable of transforming ideas into beautiful, functional spaces.
What feels most remarkable is that it all happened in what seems like the blink of an eye.
Along the way, we have been privileged to work on homes, offices, cafes, retail spaces, Airbnb projects, diaspora consultations, and subcontracted projects we once only dreamed of handling. We were honored to receive nominations and proudly bagged the Most Outstanding Interior Design Brand of the Year 2025 courtesy of Dependable Brands of Africa.
Yet, the awards are not what define success for me.
The greatest fulfillment comes at the end of a project.
It is standing beside a client who once doubted they would ever complete their dream home, only to watch them walk through the finished space with tears in their eyes.
It is witnessing children surprise their parents with fully furnished homes and hearing blessings spoken over them in gratitude.
It is the relationships built along the way;the conversations, the trust, the friendships, and the moments when clients become family. The produce lovingly packed by a client’s parent for my children, the heartfelt messages after a handover, the referrals, the prayers…these are the memories that stay with me forever.
Interior design has never been about furniture, colors, or finishes alone. It is about creating spaces where life happens. Spaces where families gather, businesses grow, children are raised, dreams are nurtured, and memories are made.
Today, we are able to furnish spaces, manage complete renovations, and even construct homes from the ground up through a network of trusted professionals who share our vision.
As I reflect on this journey, I am reminded that remarkable things happen when passion meets integrity, hard work, and purpose.
