Found the land. Ready to lease. Ready to start my agriculture business.

One last thing left — a land search to confirm ownership.

Went to the land office, handed them the parcel number, and was asked if I came alone.
Told to come back in 2 days.
2 days turned into weeks…
Weeks turned into months…

I ended up using the money I saved for my business on other things — because I was stuck waiting.

I decided to shift and offer extension services within my area just to keep moving.

Later I found out a land search takes just a few minutes.
Was I supposed to pay something small for it to get done faster??
Is this what we’ve come to?

How many dreams have been stalled waiting on basic government services?

Something needs to change.

Last week, I had the incredible opportunity to attend the Agri-Jobs 4 Youth Micro-Influencer Campaign under GIZ in Kisumu. It was an eye-opening experience, learning how social media can change the narrative of agriculture and inspire more young people to join agribusiness!
