This large-scale piece features a modern, architectural silhouette characterized by slender vertical stems topped with polished spheres.
The « ball » elements serve as the candle holders, designed to accommodate standard taper candles. Its modular appearance is reminiscent of classic mid-century designs, like those by Fritz Nagel, but updated on a grander, sculptural scale.
POLSPOTTEN is a Dutch design house known for creating bold, « iconic » home accessories and furniture that often feature playful or unconventional proportions.

This style of lamp is widely known as a “Strindberg lamp”. The design is characteristic of the Art Nouveau period (late 1800s-early 1900s), which featured organic shapes and flowing lines.
Design Details
Style: The lamp’s form, particularly the mushroom-shaped frosted glass shade and the detailed metal base, aligns with the Art Nouveau movement. The base also incorporates design elements seen in Arts & Crafts or Mission style pieces.
Materials: These lamps typically feature a metal base, often brass or bronze, and a glass shade. The shade is often hand-blown, and subtle imperfections like small bubbles can be a sign of age.
Potential Manufacturers: Historically significant manufacturers of similar lamps include Tiffany Studios, Handel, and Pairpoint. Contemporary versions or replicas are also available from companies like Konsthantverk Tyringe and Franzens Elarmatur.
