Pittu Sri Lankan rice cakes 🤍
Used Nipuni Rice Flour from Sri Lanka so soft, light, and easy to work with.
Sometimes the plating makes the dish feel even more comforting, and this pittu turned out exactly the way I imagined 🤍

You NEED to try this!

Spicy Grapes:

Sweet, spicy, and absolutely addictive 😍
These masala grapes are the perfect quick snack ….juicy, tangy, and bursting with flavor in every bite. Once you try this combo, there’s no going back!

Ingredients:
🍇 1 cup grapes
🌶️ 1/2 tsp chili powder (or to taste)
🧂 A pinch of salt
🍋 Lemon juice (optional)

Wash the grapes and place them in a bowl. Add the chili powder and salt (and lemon juice if using), then toss well until evenly coated. Serve immediately and enjoy!

Nannari Drink
(Refreshing Summer Cooler)

A simple drink that instantly cools and refreshes! Made with Nannari syrup, chilled water, soaked Kasa Kasa seeds, and plenty of ice – perfect for warm days.

Ingredients (2 glasses):
• 6 tablespoons Nannari syrup
• 500 ml Cold Water
• 2 tablespoons soaked Kasa Kasa (basil) seeds
• Ice cubes (optional)

Method:
• Add ice cubes to a jug.
• Pour in the Nannari syrup.
• Add the cold water and soaked Kasa Kasa seeds.
• Mix well and serve immediately.

Cool, refreshing, and so easy to make!

Eid Series
Creamy, rich Malai Pickle to add a special touch to your festive table 🤍

Lankan Wedding Style Malay Pickle ( my version):
Ingredients;
📌200 g Dates
📌200 ml Vinegar
📌2 teaspoons Chilli powder
📌1 tablespoon Mustard powder
📌1 “ Cinamon stick
📌2-3 Cardamom-pods or 1/2 teaspoon powder
📌100 g Jaggery
📌1 cup white sugar
📌1 teaspoon Salt
📌200g Shallots
📌Handful green Chillies,
📌4 Capsicum (cut into bite size pieces)
📌2 Onions (cut into halves)
📌1 big Carrots (cut into rounds or strips)

Method:
1️⃣wash and wipe the onions,green chilies,Capsicum and the carrots with kitchen towel.
2️⃣Blend all the ingredients except the veggies and Cinnamon sticks
3️⃣Pour the blended mix into a clay pot add the Cinnamon Stick and Cardamom pods.
4️⃣Boil it on low flame for 15-20 minutes until thick.stir occasionally.
5️⃣When the mixture is cool add the onions,Capsicum,green Chillies and the carrots.mix well.
6️⃣Store it in a glass jar or clay pot.

Tips:

📌you can add raw mango chopped and lime pickle pieces to the pickle.
📌 This Pickle has a long shelf life and if stored properly in an airtight glass jar and away from moisture in room temperature or even in refrigerator, this does not expire for at least 6 months .add the onions and all whenever needed.It taste better when you add them fresh.
📌Always make sure to wipe the onions and all properly.
📌Grind whole Mustard to make mustard powder.
📌Keep it in the refrigerator for freshness.
📌If you are adding whole cardamom add when you add Cinnamon Stick.

Here’s how I made my simple and delicious seafood pasta at home 👩🏻‍🍳

Seafood Pasta 🦐🐙🍝
(A flavorful mix of shrimp, octopus, and squid tossed with veggies and pasta in a rich tomato base — simple, comforting, and full of taste!)

Ingredients:
• 500g shrimp (deshelled)
• 300g octopus (cleaned and cut into pieces)
• 300g squid (cleaned)
• 4 tbsp grated garlic
• 1 onion, chopped
• 1 cup sweet corn
• 1 carrot, chopped
• A handful of french beans, chopped
• 1 ½ cups tomato puree or crushed tomatoes
• 500g pasta (boiled)
• Juice of 1 lemon
• Salt, oregano, and pepper powder to taste
• Olive oil

Method:
1. Clean all the seafood well. Cut the octopus into pieces and deshell the prawns. Set aside.
2. Heat olive oil in a large pan and add all the seafood. Cook until just done, then remove and keep aside.
3. In the same pan, add a little more olive oil if needed, then add the grated garlic and sauté until fragrant.
4. Add the chopped onion, sweet corn, carrot, and french beans. Stir and cook until slightly tender.
5. Pour in the tomato puree and season with salt, oregano, and pepper powder. Stir well and let the sauce simmer for a few minutes.
6. Add the boiled pasta and toss until well coated with the sauce.
7. Add the cooked seafood back into the pan, mix everything gently, and squeeze in the juice of 1 lemon.
8. Give it one last stir, and serve warm. A perfect bowl of fresh, flavorful seafood pasta!

Ingredients
• 4–5 nests tagliatelle
• 10 cherry tomatoes (halved)
• 1 small onion (sliced)
• 2 garlic cloves (sliced)
• 1 handful fresh basil seeds
• 3 tablespoons parsley chopped
• 1 teaspoon oregano
• 3 tablespoons olive oil
• 4 tablespoons passata
• 1/2 pack heavy cream
• Hot stock or hot water (to almost cover the pasta)
• Salt & black pepper
• Parmesan (for serving)

Method

1. Add the tagliatelle to a large pan.
2. Top with cherry tomatoes, onion, garlic and fresh basil.
3. Add passata, olive oil, oregano, salt and black pepper.
4. Pour in the cream along with hot stock (or water), just enough to almost cover the pasta.
5. Cover and cook until the pasta softens.
6. Remove the lid and simmer for 2–3 minutes until the sauce becomes rich and creamy.
7. Finish with a generous sprinkle of parmesan and enjoy!
