Well after testing the guillotine I could not hold back, so you all will get a sneak-peak.
Rough forged pre-forme of mild steel, just to see how the dies and steel behave.
The profile looks already damn good, and I know now exacly how the pre-form needs to be, to get a good result for all the sword types planned.
It's even possible to forge a proper distal taper to the blade, just with the guillotine and good power hammer control.

Today I will clean up the dies for the guillotine tool. So nothing interesting to share, not before I will start with the prototypes of the basic fencing line.
But till then, here some details about the possibilities, because our workshop does not just produces steel items.
We also work in leather; sccabbards, belts and so on. Here some experiments and finished products:

The guillotine dies (1045/C45W/ DIN 1.1730 steel) are hardened and tempered. Monday I will polish the surfaces and then, after the 26. August (will be on vaccation till the 26.) I finally can forge the prototypes for the basic HEMA line: arming sword, feather and longsword.

Building a guillotine tool for the powerhammer.
Because I do need this tool to forge some complex blade geometry (for the upcoming basic HEMA line for example), the dies and frame need to fit snug to the power hammer. After some filing and fine tuning, everything sits as intended.
Now I will profile the dies for the intended profile, means more file work. The frame is just mild steel and the dies are 1.1730 tool steel.

Fine straightening of the sword blade. It had a little warp as it was to be expected. I corrected it mostly just after the quench. But One get's it never absolutely perfect in those few seconds. So final straightening will be done with the help of a wolframcarbit ball hammer.
