⚠️ IMPORTANT EU SHIPPING UPDATE 🇪🇺

I honestly never thought I’d be writing another shipping announcement like this. After everything that happened with USA shipping, I never expected EU shipping to become a problem too. 😔

💔 For now, I’ve made the difficult decision to temporarily pause EU shipping while I figure out what my options are and hope that things change.

New cross-border packaging regulations (EPR) may require small businesses to register in multiple EU countries and pay annual fees to each country, even when selling only a handful of items.

For a tiny one-person business like mine, these costs can become impossible. I might sell only 5-8 items to a particular EU country, yet the requirements can still involve significant yearly fees.

I fully support recycling, reducing waste and using recyclable packaging. Many small businesses already do this, including myself. But there needs to be a fair threshold for micro-businesses so that environmental regulations don’t unintentionally push small artists and makers out of the EU market.

It feels like the system is being designed around much larger businesses while small independent makers are being left behind.

Stop destroying EU micro-businesses: Immediate moratorium on cross-border EPR fees

🇺🇸🦇 USA SHIPPING UPDATE 🦇🇺🇸

After many months of waiting, I’m so happy to finally reopen USA shipping on a small trial basis! 🥳🎉

For now, USA shipping will work through limited batches until the postal service fully reopens USA shipments through all post offices again.

Since this is still a soft reopening, USA parcels are currently only being accepted at the main postal office in Malta. This means each USA batch requires me to take the ferry and travel to the main post office, which is around a 2 hour trip. Because of this, I’ll only be able to send a limited number of orders at a time.

🦇 How the USA batches will work:

• USA shipping will reopen for a limited number of orders.

• Once the available spots are filled, USA shipping will close again.

• I’ll prepare and complete all orders from that batch before making the trip to the post office.

• Once that batch has been shipped, I’ll announce the next USA reopening.

🦇 Please keep in mind:

• Processing time may be a little longer than usual, as I’ll be making all orders from the batch and shipping them together.

• Shipping costs include the postal service charges, insurance/registered shipping requirements, and any applicable USA tariff/import charges requested during this process.

All the spots in this small batch have officially been filled, and I honestly can’t thank you enough for the amazing support. 🥰 Your orders, messages, and excitement mean so much to me!

Once these orders are finished and have been taken to the post office, I’ll reopen US shipping for another small batch.

🇺🇸 US followers - Please read! I need your feedback before reopening shipping 🦇

I received an email a few days ago regarding US shipments. They told us they are planning a soft launch for shipping to the United States, although I’m not sure how long it will stay open or how long it will take for shipping to fully reopen.

The new charges they gave us are:
• Tracked postage: €13
• US processing fee: €3.50
• Standard insurance (covers loss up to €100): €5
• 10% US tariff on the total value of the contents.

I will combine the tracked postage, US processing fee, and standard insurance into a single shipping charge. The total comes to €21.50, but I’m thinking of charging €20 and covering the remaining amount myself. 🖤

The 10% tariff will be calculated automatically at checkout based on the total value of the order.

⚠️ Please note: these costs are in euros (€). If you’d like to check the approximate amount in US dollars, you can use www.xe.com for a quick currency conversion 😉

Because of these new costs, I’m trying to see whether there is enough interest from my US customers before I reopen shipping, even on a limited basis.

My idea is to accept a small number of US orders at a time. Once I collect a specific small batch of orders, I will close US shipping again and send that batch together. This means the processing time will depend on how quickly the batch fills up. If you are not willing to wait, please keep this in mind before expressing your interest.

A little behind the scenes note: for every US shipment I have to make a 2 hour car and ferry trip to the postal head office, because that is currently the only office accepting US packages. So I need to have enough parcels to make the trip worthwhile.

I couldn't resist... he's finally ready! 😍

I know this isn't the best photo. The light today has been so strange... everything outside is incredibly bright, so the colours aren't showing as beautifully as they should.

So... you might be wondering what happened to the Lestat bat...

He's almost ready! 🤭

I kept looking at him thinking, something's missing. I just couldn't put my finger on it. After staring at him for far too long, I finally figured out what that missing detail was!

Unfortunately, I couldn't find the material I needed... but I finally found it today! 😁 So now I can finally finish him.

To all my fellow Lestat fans... thank you so much for your patience. 🖤 I promise he'll be worth the wait, and I have a feeling you're going to fall in love with him once he's finished. He's coming very soon... maybe even tomorrow if everything goes smoothly 😉

Oh! And I'd also like to introduce the newest helper at MāoBat Creations... 😜
