When we think of sewing, we often think of our grandmothers and previous generations and the skills they just knew. With the age of automation and convenience, it has become easy to let these skills dwindle and even lost, but in actual fact it is the time we need to learn this the most.

Apart from that, the skill is greatly underestimated for the numerous other benefits it provides:
independence to make and alter
satisfaction & joy
nervous system regulation
lower cortisol
reduced risk of cognitive decline
community & friendship
screen-free flow state for your brain and hands
creative self expression/identity
patience
slow and intentional making and creating.
