🌧️ Rainy Day Garden Don’ts 🌧️
Hey garden lovers! As tempting as it might be to get your hands dirty (literally), rainy days are not the time for certain gardening tasks. Here are a few important DON’Ts to keep your garden and soil healthy:
🚫 Don’t walk on wet soil – It compacts the earth, squeezing out precious air and damaging soil structure. Stay on paths if you must go out!
🚫 Don’t dig or plant – Wet soil is super vulnerable. Digging can lead to clumping and compaction, making it harder for roots to grow.
🚫 Don’t prune – Rain spreads diseases easily. Pruning wet plants can create open wounds that invite fungal infections.
🚫 Don’t apply fertilizer – Most of it will just wash away, wasting money and potentially harming nearby waterways.
🚫 Don’t ignore drainage issues – If you spot pooling water, make a note to fix it when it dries. Proper drainage is key for healthy plants.
🌿 Use the rainy day instead to cozy up with your garden journal, plan your planting schedule, or browse for new seeds! Your garden will thank you later. 🌧️💚
