“Confession time.”

For the longest time, Adam refused to put Mac & Cheese on the menu.

“It’s not pasta.”
“It’s too common.”
“It doesn’t fit our brand.”

Yes… he was that pasta snob. 😂

Then we realised something.

Cooking isn’t just about authenticity.
It’s about making people happy.

And if a bowl of creamy, cheesy Mac & Cheese brings a smile to our younger guests (or the young at heart), maybe it deserves a place at our table too.

So… Adam finally gave in. 😌

But if we were going to make it…

We were going to make it our way.

June has been a beautiful month for us.

A month of celebration, homecoming, and slowing down, as Sarawak came together for Gawai, many of our team members returned to their kampung to spend time with family and enjoy the harvest season.

At TEPUNG, we’ve always believed that behind every plate is a person, and we value the hands that create, hearts behind the work, and the rhythm that keeps us going for the long run.

And sometimes, good things need a little more time.

Our monthly special arrived a little later this month, inspired by the ocean and the flavours it brings.

A small project we thought of for Mother’s Day 💐❤️

This year, we gave out carnations and asked our customers one simple question:
“What do you love most about your mum?”

From young children to older adults, the answers were surprisingly heartfelt, honest, funny, and emotional in different ways. Through all the stories shared, one thing became clear- we probably don’t say “thank you” enough for all the sacrifices our mums make every single day.

And maybe… it’s never too late to show a little more love, appreciation, and affection. ❤️

Papardelle Lamb Ragù Bianco

Lamb ragù has always been a favourite of ours, but it’s still not on our permanent menu.

Not because we don’t love it, but because of how much care it demands. From the slow sofrito prep, to hours of gentle cooking, to carefully deboning each piece; every step is a little more delicate, a little more time-consuming. And we prefer to keep it in small batches, so nothing goes to waste and every plate stays intentional.

That’s why when it appears on the menu, it’s always for a limited time, so don’t miss it.

This week, Lamb Ragù Bianco with papardelle. A white ragù base (no tomato, for those who prefer it cleaner), finished with a subtle twist of sweet pepper for a light citrus note, paired with our in-house hand-cut papardelle.

Simple. Slow. Limited.

April showing up like that “nothing much happening here” month… so we decided to change the mood a little.

When things feel a bit in-between, we like to stir something new into the menu.

Pappardelle Ripiene Beef Ricotta with Butter Herbs

Fresh pappardelle ripiene filled with seasoned beef and ricotta, finished in a butter herb sauce that brings out the richness of the filling. A comforting balance of protein and carbs, made for days when you want something simple but satisfying.

We can’t wait to roll out more fillings soon.
