If you grew up in a Deeperlife home, you will be able to relate to this my story..
While growing up, we didn’t have many male friends, infact, it was almost like a taboo to be seen speaking with boys, but i was the one with strong head😂😂
we had a neighbour that took it upon herself to always cook up juicy stories and report to my mom anytime she saw me talking to boys…and i collected plenty flogging.
One time i saw my friend on the road and stopped him to ask how the quiz competition between our schools went, this woman told my mom she saw me talking to a boy under a flower.
May God forgive your lies ma😒😏
No boy dared to visit our house except they had nine lives.
Boyfriends and dating was out of the question….but somehow…you were expected to bring a husband home😂😂
I remember two funny incidents..
One day, my friend, a guy, visited me at home, this guy was our church member ooo…his parents were workers too, i guess that’s why my mom wasn’t angry.
So i brought out drinks and snacks and we were gisting. Next thng, my mom came out to the parlour, sat down opposite us and started picking beans for cooking.
It didn’t even register in my head then but when i thought about it later, i realised my mom was doing FBI work😂😂
Few years later, i was working at the bank, and already started seeing bobo codedly. We worked at the same branch at the time.
One day we closed late and my mom was driving past, she saw us standing at the bus stop and gave us a lift.
She told bobo that he should join us so that she can drop him at his home in 8miles.
I just dey smile!! You wan whine me??
I knew my mother was looking at my face to see if i know directions to his house, that would mean i have visited him naa😂😂😂
Omorrrr!! Na me ask questions pass
“Errmmm..Chuka, is this your street?”
“Should we go left or right?”
Giniiii?????!!!!

Chuka was looking at me like, “You wey i cook beans and plantain for ehh?”
When we reached his house, i told him, “your house is far oo…”
It took the grace of God for him not to laugh.
I know for certain that my mom knew i was pretending…and was not convinced
But evidence no dey 😂😂😂 you go explain tire
I just say let me remind my mom that me and that bobo got married and gave her 3 grandchildren….
