[Commission Request] Naruto Itachi WIP / 2D Cel Shading Technique!
Up until now, all of my commissions came from overseas, but I just landed my very first request right here in Nicaragua. This painting technique goes by a few different names, like 2D cel shading, flat animation, or toon cel painting. I've wanted to try this style for a long time, so I've been studying light and shadow and practicing quietly on my own, but I never expected to get a commission for it out of nowhere. Hey guys finally after what felt like an endless eternity of sandin’ I can finally start paintin’ today. This is how far I've come with the project. It might not look that big in photos or on screen but this thing is insanely heavy and it is literally the size of my upper body haha. Now there's only 28 days left until the contest deadline and I just really hope I can push through finish it all and make it to the contest in one piece. You can't really tell from the photos but for example her cape was originally split into 4 separate parts. I welded them together and sculpted along the cape’s pattern and texture myself so you absolutely cannot see any seam lines. But I'm just so glad the result turned out way better than I thought. I know the world is huge and it is full of incredibly talented people so I don't really expect to get a crazy good result but I do believe this experience is gonna help me grow once again. Anyway please root for me so I can cross the finish line with this thing
