Summer is in full swing. ☀️🍓

Wild strawberries always remind me of my grandmother, but also of the place where I found and captured this wild strawberry print a few years ago.

Last year, while teaching workshops at a historic botanical garden in Belgium, I was given a bundle of wild strawberry plants with their roots still attached so participants could print with them. I brought the remaining plants home and tucked them into my garden.

Just look at how they’ve grown.

Blooming Day is al weken volledig volgeboekt, maar door onvoorziene omstandigheden zijn er voor aanstaande zaterdag 3 plekjes vrijgekomen.

Dus als je stiekem dacht: “Had ik me maar aangemeld,” dan is dit misschien wel jouw teken.

We brengen de dag door met botanisch printen, werken met klei, genieten van een heerlijke lunch en samen vertragen in de tuin.

“The days we remember are rarely the busiest ones.”

This one was an absolute delight to capture.

Created from our temp dining table in Switzerland, overlooking the last traces of snow on the mountains, and made with the final tulips I gathered just around the corner from our house.

This one almost didn't make it.

Leucojum aestivum — the summer snowflake. Despite the name, it blooms in early spring, quietly and a little later than the rest. I nearly closed the collection without it.

But I'd waited all season for the full arc. And the full arc meant waiting for this one too.

It was worth it. There's something about its shape — those small bells, perfectly formed — that feels like a quiet full stop at the end of a sentence.

With beautiful weather finally in the forecast, come and join us at Garden Fest, organised by MAY & JUNE 🌿

My workshops on both days have been sold out for quite some time now, but there is so much more to enjoy: inspiring workshops, beautiful show gardens, creative businesses, talks, plants, delicious food, and plenty of inspiration for anyone who loves gardens and the outdoors.

This will be my third year taking part, and every time I'm reminded how special it is. The atmosphere, the people, the creativity, and the feeling of being part of a beautifully curated garden festival make it an event worth experiencing for yourself.

Early spring has always been the season that slipped through my fingers.

The snowdrops, the crocuses, the fritillaries — here for a breath, then gone. For seven years I tried to print them and couldn’t. They were too full of water, too alive.

Last year, on a creative retreat in Italy, something shifted. This spring, for the first time, I caught the whole season.

Captured — 26 original prints on handmade paper. The full arc of early spring, finally held still.

Eerlijk gezegd hadden we niet verwacht dat alle plekjes zo snel gevuld zouden zijn.

We voelen ons ontzettend dankbaar voor al het vertrouwen, enthousiasme en de lieve berichten die we hebben ontvangen. Dat betekent echt veel voor ons.

Achter de schermen zijn we nu druk bezig met alle voorbereidingen en de kleine details die van Blooming Day een mooie bijzondere dag moeten maken ✨

An acquaintance from Switzerland walked part of the Camino de Santiago a month ago. Listening to her stories felt so inspiring, empowering, and adventurous that I found myself dreaming of walking across the Netherlands for the month of May — to heal, let go of what I had been carrying for so long, and recharge.

I never quite managed the walking part.

Instead, I made a different commitment: to consciously bring more joy and lightness into my life throughout May. I followed what naturally called to me. The beautiful weather. Fifty shades of green. The soft light after sunset. The changing colours of the sky. Flowers blooming everywhere. Kind souls crossing my path through my work.
And somehow, it all worked.

I feel like I am coming back to myself. A little more healed. Almost fully recharged. Ready to breathe deeply again.

A few moments from May:

1 -6 Beautiful Madrid — a spontaneous weekend away with my other half, while also catching up with dear friends. It seems I’ve collected more friends around the globe than in the place I currently call home.

3- More belly laughs, please.

7 - 10 Discovering the lesser-known architectural and cultural treasures of Utrecht with a voice-guided walking tour .eu

11 - 12- About as close as you’ll ever see me get to horse riding. & Horse petting with my darling daughter.

13 - 14 Olive oil stories and all things green — exactly my kind of thing.

15 - Me in a dress a cherished timeless piece — for Adi’s . Such warm hospitality, delicious food, and a lovely occasion to exchange clothes and stories.
16- 17 Antwerp-ing, a favourite.
18 - Me and Muffin, wishing you a beautiful summer.

As for me, I’ve set my intention for the season ahead: connection and creating new memories.
