Cape Dutch offers immersive culinary experiences in a historic Haarlem gracht house.

Happy festive season! 🎄We are doing our Luxurious Christmas culinary boxes again this year.
Last year these were a massive hit and many of you have been asking for the information on how to order this year.
For those if you who don’t know our beautiful boxes make the perfect gift for friends, family, staff, and clients (or as a little treat to yourself 😉). Everything is handmade with the highest quality luxury ingredients.

We have two options:
Option 1: €60
What’s included: fruity boozy Christmas cake with marzipan topping, chocolate cinnamon, and raspberry meringues, orange chocolate truffels, white and dark chocolate disks with toasted almonds and cranberries, tomato chilli jam, marinated olives, sweet and spicy roasted nuts, 3 cheese star biscuits sprinkled with poppy seeds, and lastly rosemary and parmesan short bread biscuits.

Option 2: €45
Decadent almond and apricot chocolate brownies, chocolate cinnamon, and raspberry meringues, orange chocolate truffels, white and dark chocolate disks with toasted almonds and cranberries, tomato chilli jam, marinated olives, sweet and spicy roasted nuts, 3 cheese star biscuits sprinkled with poppy seeds, and lastly rosemary and parmesan short bread biscuits.

Orders can be made until 16 December and must be collected before 22 December.

The Cape-Dutch Story: A Full Circle Harvest

The kitchen has always been the heartbeat of our home—a warm, noisy, and diverse space where generations have gathered, traditions have been passed down, and unforgettable meals have been shared. Our story begins with a journey and ends with a return.
My mother, a native of the Netherlands, left her home during the war, ultimately settling in South Africa. I was born in the vibrant Cape region, a cultural melting pot that inspired my culinary spirit. Now, a generation later, my own family—my husband, two daughters, and I—have come full circle, returning to the historic streets of Haarlem where our European roots began.

From Olympic Pastry chef to Gracht House Host:
For over three decades, I have lived and breathed the culinary world, working in five-star kitchens across the globe. As a chef, I pushed boundaries, becoming the first woman on the South African national team and winning an Olympic medal as the national pastry chef. This professional excellence now fuels the high-quality, memorable experiences we create at Cape-Dutch.

Cape-Dutch: A Celebration of Fusion
Our business, Cape-Dutch, is a nod to the historical and cultural crossroads of the Cape—a place where diverse traditions blended to create something entirely new. Our workshops are designed to be this same melting pot: warm, inviting, and diverse.
From the family tradition of baking speculaas and gingerbread—a cherished tradition I have carried from my childhood in the Cape to my own daughters—to hearty South African stews, we invite you to experience the authentic fusion of our heritage.
