Moro med tre. Trearbeid skore med kniv i lind, osp og einer.

Did a rerun of the owl course today for a Polish delegation to our school. Everybody, including me, had a great time, and the owl were a success. Good job, everyone. 😄

Had to do this microcarve. «Learning to fly III». The glass is 120mm, the penguins 15 and 20mm.
Linden, acrylics, twig and moss. 😁
Happy carving and stay safe. 😄

Olaf is not happy. Just when swimming looked like harmless fun again. 😅
Painted the next of my angler fish. And a little scared prey. 😁
Linden, acrylics and driftwood.
Happy carving and stay safe. 😄

Olaf: «Ok, swimming is back on.»
Got a bit carried away with the little guys, so made a Summer themed Tic-tac-toe. 😄
Linden, birch dowel, pine board and acrylics.
Happy carving and stay safe. 😉

Who said sarcasm gets you nowhere? Not Olaf, who today can be found in the UK newspaper Daily Mirror. Didn’t make the front page, but can be found being mean to walruses on page 35. 😂 Nice one, Olaf!

Olaf: «You’re too late, bunnies. Hefner left in 2017.»
I rest my case on the Ddalo bunnies. 😉 Linden, BLO mix and a little acrylics. Fun carves, may still paint a little more. 🤔 Happy carving, happy Easter and stay safe. 😄

Olaf: «Buddy, that’s high level lazy.»
Well, it’s the World’s easiest whittle. And the beak IS whittled. 😂
Easter is coming. Happy carving and stay safe. 😄

Olaf: «Speak, Buddy, they’re all ears.»
Thanks to Ddalo for the new bunny design, and to John Overby for the old one. And Buddy’s from the Beethoven bin. Linden, BLO mix and acrylics. Fun carves. Happy carving and stay safe. 😄

I rest my case on the whittling class, and think I’m good to go. Finished the knives today, and they feel good. Each student borrows a kit of knife, strop, wood, ruler, pencil, glove and thumbguard. Compound we share. They’ll learn safety, four main cuts, considering grain, stropping, practice safe cuts and an owl in six steps. Anything I’ve forgotten, now is the time to speak. 😄 Happy carving, I hope this will be.

The plot thickens. 😁 Making strops for my class project. Pine and pig or kangaroo leather. I chose these because they are thin and has minimum give as opposed to thicker leather, which may round the edge if one’s not careful with pressure and angle. Happy carving and stay safe. 😄

Preparing for a carving class project, where an owl is the goal, I made this set of stage by stage demo sticks. Each is numbered and put on a dowel on the stand, so they can be looked at individually by the wannabes. 😁

Brian: «Guys, wanna get hammered?»
Couldn’t help it. This had to be done. 😁
Linden and acrylics. Happy carving and stay safe. 😄
