Which cheeses should we choose for our first Norwegian cheese fondue test ?

We opted for two very affordable cheeses that are widely available and offer great flavor.
Norvegia® Ekstra Vellagret 15 mnd (Extra Mature) is a premium version of the famous Norwegian cheese. It is matured for a minimum of 15 months on wooden shelves, giving it a more pronounced, rich, and complex flavor than classic Norvegia.
TINE® Norsk Alpeost Vellagret (17 months mature) is a Norwegian pressed cooked cheese, characterized by a long maturation process that develops complex aromas and a unique texture. Produced in Elnesvågen, near the Romsdal Alps, this cheese is compared to Alpine-style cheeses and is renowned for its balance between mildness and aromatic richness.

We paired them with a Norwegian beer, Schous pils.

We tried the fondue with two different types of bread and cooked fennel. I love the taste of cooked fennel and melted cheese. For the bread, we chose a ciabatta and a seeded loaf.
This first test was a success and will be added to our recipe collection !
