✨ Have you ever considered what else you can make with EFFY Rug Yarn? 🧶
I'm about three-quarters of the way through making this gorgeous textured rug by designer . I purchased the pattern on Etsy and have been following it using EFFY 100% Rug Wool—and I'm absolutely loving how it's turning out! 😍
For anyone wondering, I'm using a 4 mm crochet hook, although in hindsight I think a 4.5 mm or even a 5 mm hook would have been a better choice. It would have given the stitches a little more room and made the finished piece slightly easier to block.
Sadly, our Rug Wool isn't something we're stocking at the moment, although we're hopeful we'll be able to bring it back one day. ❤️ The good news is that our Acrylic Rug Yarn comes in the exact same colours and has a very similar structure and feel, so it would be a fantastic substitute if you'd like to make one yourself.
For this project, I'm using four colours:
💛 Lemon
🌼 Yellow
✨ Stitchbird Yellow
🟡 Mustard
We actually still have some of these Rug Wool colours left because they're some of our less popular shades, so if you'd prefer the wool version, you might still be able to snag a few cones before they're gone. Otherwise, you'll find these exact colours in our Acrylic Rug Yarn range too!
Now I need a little advice...
This piece is 100% wool, so it should be able to be blocked, but it's HUGE! 😅 Has anyone here blocked something this large before? What did you use to pin it out? A standard blocking board definitely isn't going to cut it!
I've only been crocheting for about a year, so I'm still learning, and I'd really appreciate any tips or tricks you have. ❤️
