Every project I work on, I pour my heart into finding the right pieces for my clients. The tiles, the fixtures, the finishes, all chosen with them in mind. The problem is, somewhere along the way I always end up falling in love with half of it myself! 😆

Worth the wait.

These curtains were installed at a client's home last week. Finding the right fabric for a boy's bedroom took time...the perfect colour, the perfect scale, the perfect check. But when the fabric came back into stock and we finally got them made up, it was worth the wait.
..and look at that detail at the top, the checks matched perfectly for a seamless finish. That's what happens when you've got the right team fabricating them.

Spent a couple of hours at Blum looking at hinges and drawer systems. Properly excited about it, the kind of excited only another designer or trade person would get. 😆. A friend rang me today, stressed about choosing curtain fabric. "It's so overwhelming," she said. Too many options, no way to know what was right. Then she commented, it's so much easier when someone's already done the narrowing down, and all you have to do is pick from what's left. That's most of the job, really. Not adding more choice. Taking most of it away, until what's left is just the right ones.

I don't believe in starting from scratch.
Your home carries your story. The pieces you've collected over time, the things that just mean something — those are worth holding onto.
For a recent client I built an entire gallery around artwork she'd collected over the years. Pieces that held deep sentimental and emotional meaning for her. I found things that sat alongside them, complemented them in colour, shape and feeling.
It's not about throwing it all out. It's about honouring what's already there. ❤
