| You can spend so much time adjusting the smallest details when it comes to ikebana.

After a while, you start to notice when something feels off, whether that's a stem being too long or a flower facing the wrong angle, even if it's hard to explain why. |

We'll be exploring what makes ikebana different from a regular flower arrangement at my upcoming workshop next Saturday, 24 October.

Nothing like flower arranging on a rainy day

Prompt this week: tiny and delicate.

Now, this was a challenge because most of the stems are so tiny that it was difficult to fit them onto the flower frog. They would just slip between the sharp, needle-like bits instead of sitting on them. 🫣 Which meant everything kept falling over.

I love the look of the ipheions, 💜 tiny bursts of purple with a star shaped face. It's such a cute bulb flower.

For something so tiny, it really stands out.

Had a cosy morning yesterday making this arrangement for eventsatgreenhaugh's grand opening to showcase a glimpse of our upcoming workshop 🫶

First go at my Spring arrangement challenge.

⭐ prompt of the week: Foraged on a Walk ⭐

Found some Acacia longifolia (Sydney golden wattle) on my walk with my husband the other day. These fluffy and delicate yellow flowers gave off one of the loveliest fragrances and it perfumed our house for a week 😍

Things I've learnt:
- moderately toxic to animals if leaves are ingested, so pet owners take note!
- works for trailing/cascading look in arrangements
- I need to bottle this scent

Hi Palmy! Excited to share that I'm hosting an Ikebana workshop with Events at Greenhaugh.

It will be an afternoon of wandering through the Greenhaugh Gardens and gathering flowers to practise the art of ikebana (the Japanese art of flower arranging).

Equipment - and refreshments, of course - will be provided, and at the end of it all you'll take home your very own floral arrangement!

Thank you to everyone who joined us for last week's Ikebana & Matcha Workshop.

It was a beautiful morning of matcha, creativity, and discovering the art of ikebana.
