The Te Ara Wāhine programme is now live. Created by our very own Sarah, Te Ara Wāhine is designed for wāhine working in trade and construction who are ready to grow their confidence, strengthen their business skills, and connect with others who understand the industry.

Across three inspiring days, attendees will hear from experienced speakers, take part in practical sessions and build valuable connections with other wāhine navigating similar challenges and opportunities.

We’re incredibly proud to see Sarah’s vision come to life and excited about what this event will offer wāhine across the sector.

Your water pressure shouldn't be dropping for no reason. Here's what might be causing it.

Low water pressure at home is frustrating, and it's usually a sign of something that needs attention.

Common causes could be:
🔧 A partially closed main shutoff valve
🔧 Corroded or scaled pipes reducing flow
🔧 A failing pressure reducing valve (PRV)
🔧 A small leak somewhere in the system using up pressure
🔧 Council-side supply issues (check with your local council first)

If it's not the council supply, it's worth getting a plumber to check. Low pressure can indicate a slow leak that causes long-term damage if left.

What does it actually mean to be a registered plumber in New Zealand and why does it matter who you hire?

In NZ, anyone doing plumbing, gasfitting, or drainlaying work must be licensed by the Plumbers, Gasfitters and Drainlayers Board. Unlicensed work is illegal, can void your insurance, and creates serious safety and liability risks.

Every tradesperson at BOP Plumbing & Gas is fully licensed and registered. We don't cut corners on compliance, quality, or safety.
