We will normally always use a rug in the living room. It defines the space and creats that cosy feeling. Sometimes there is an exception to that rule, and this property was one of them. With the built in cabinetry to work around, a rug would have made the space feel a lot smaller then it actually was - so we decided to omit the rug, and instead place it under the dining table, splitting the room into two useable zones.
