This was definitely one of those projects where we had to think a little outside the box.

The home is in a really exposed location, so the clients needed a way to help protect the joinery from the weather — but without losing their view or adding permanent framing.

We came up with using Omni Screen outdoor blinds as a weather barrier solution, and the end result worked so well.

The blinds operate with a simple crank handle and can be completely retracted away when not needed. When lowered, they tension down securely to the deck to help provide protection from the wind, rain, harsh sun and also add extra privacy when needed.

What we love most is that it gives protection without making the space feel closed in and without altering that incredible view.

The system is also built to handle tough outdoor conditions, with stainless steel components and powder-coated aluminum hardware for durability and corrosion resistance
