OUR STORY

HAPAO by HCR Handicrafts started as a humble passion for locally made crafts, inspired by the weaving skills of community artisans. From a small initiative, it grew when the founder left a corporate career to promote handmade products in local markets. Through dedication to quality, the business evolved into a trusted producer of handcrafted goods now reaching both local (nationwide) and international markets. Today, we serve as a bridge between rural artisans and the global stage, preserving tradition while sharing the story and legacy behind every piece. 🇵🇭

THE BRAND NAME & LOGO

The brand name HAPAO was derived from the Hapao weaving technique, most prominently associated with artisan communities in La Union. This traditional hand-weaving method is known for its unique patterns, durability, and use of eco-friendly materials such as labtang, (Anamirta Cocculus) - a vine thrives on the verdant slopes of La Union. The name represents quality craftsmanship, cultural heritage, and sustainable design, which are embodied in every woven basket produced under the brand. 🇵🇭
