NAKAPUNTA KA NA BA SA BADEKBEK SULFUR SPRING?

Badekbek Sulfur Spring is a natural sulfuric hot spring with bubbling mud, located in Daclan, Bokod, Benguet, Philippines. The name “Badekbek” comes from the Ibaloi word meaning “bubbling” or “boiling”- a perfect description of the constantly churning mud at the site.

But Badekbek is more than just a hot, bubbling spring. For generations, women in the community have used its sulfur-rich mud and water to produce Badekbek sulfur soap, widely believed to be an effective remedy for various skin conditions.

The healing reputation of Badekbek has endured through time. People from nearby communities regularly visit the spring seeking relief from skin ailments such as scabies and other infections. Local stories even tell of animals being brought to the spring and recovering after exposure to its waters, further strengthening belief in its therapeutic powers.

Badekbek Sulfur Spring stands not only as a natural wonder, but also as a living example of indigenous knowledge, traditional healing, and the deep connection between the land and the people of Benguet.
