Paying homage to the timeless Prairie Style of the early 20th century, the horizontal lines created by the balconies are skewed and brought to the foreground to accentuate the house’s attachment to the earth despite being high above ground.

Perched atop an uphill subdivision, this twin residence takes full advantage of panoramic city vistas. The design incorporates layers of cantilevered balconies, optimizing natural light, passive ventilation, and a seamless flow between interior and outdoor spaces, reflecting the client’s passion for active, outdoor living. Every detail has been crafted to blend the home with its stunning natural surroundings.

Devastating — the state of our city rivers. These dead waterbodies once had riparian buffers that were beaming with life, vital to its sustainability.

Being hotspots of human activities, rivers and riparian buffers degraded as civilization thrived. People have increasingly settled near rivers endangering not only nature but also the health and safety of dwellers. Many engineering solutions including ripraps and levees were implemented but rivers remain dead and treated as the city’s backyards.

What if we could revive that once thriving life? What if we could create an architecture that reconnects people and nature?

This is our humble exploration into one of the city’s most critical yet oblivious issues.
