PUBLIC ADVISORY ON FALLEN TREES AND HAZARD MANAGEMENT IN CAMP JOHN HAY

Due to incessant rains and the recent typhoon, several trees within Camp John Hay have fallen or sustained damage. The John Hay Management Corporation (JHMC) is assessing affected areas and has begun retrieval operations to ensure public safety.

Visitors, locators, and residents are advised to avoid trees that appear dangerous or compromised. For immediate safety, JHSEZ Locators and their trained personnel should temporarily secure and cordon off hazardous areas. Where conditions allow, pathways may be cleared of debris that could cause falls or accidents—without cutting or felling trees until weather conditions improve.

All tree cutting, felling, and removal will be carried out only by DENR-registered and qualified service providers, in compliance with Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) permits, emergency provisions, and related regulations.

Full cutting and felling operations will be scheduled during safer weather conditions to protect personnel, the public, and nearby property. JHMC asks for your patience and cooperation as assessments are completed, permits secured, and restoration work undertaken.

STATEMENT

The John Hay Management Corporation (JHMC) joins the community in expressing solidarity with the Poro Point Management Corporation (PPMC) during this difficult time. We extend our heartfelt prayers and support to the family of Hon. Nicky A. Oller, Chairperson of the PPMC Board, and stand with the PPMC Board, management, and staff in hoping for his safe return.

As a fellow member of the Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) family, JHMC underscores its commitment to unity and compassion.

We also encourage the public to cooperate with authorities in their ongoing efforts to locate Chairman Oller.
