Noong Pebrero 22, 2022 ang aking kauna-unahang pagpunta sa Cebu. Dala-dala ko noon ang damit ng Sto. Niño de Salud. Buong pagpapakumbaba ko Itong inilapit sa Iyo, at ako’y nagdasal nang nakaluhod mula sa pintuan ng simbahan patungo sa harap ng Iyong banal na altar.

Dumating ako noon na may pananampalataya, ngunit hindi pa ako nakabili ng Sto. Niño. Kaya’t taimtim akong nangako—babalik ako sa Iyong tahanan.

Ngayon, heto na—hawak ko na ang Sto. Niño de Cebu. Ang lahat ng pagod at pawis ay naging patotoo ng pananampalataya, pagtitiyaga, at walang hanggang biyaya. 🙏✨

St. Ozseb (Eusebius) was a Hungarian hermit and founder. One night during prayer, he saw many tiny flames which moved towards him and they joined near his cross forming a huge flame. From the cross he heard someone telling him to establish an order. He founded the Order of Saint Paul the First Hermit, the first Hungarian order. He is known to have written several books on canon law, but none have survived.

He was an English bishop and martyr. He was sent as a bishop in Scandanavia. He evangelized Sweden and Norway. After St. Erik, King of Sweden, won the war against the Finns, St. Henry evangelized in Finland. He was axed to death by a Finnish soldier named Lalli whom he had just excommunicated for murdering a Swedish soldier. Legend says that Lalli had a long life, continually tormented by mice as a penance for his attack.

He was a French priest and founder. Un-doing the damage of the French Revolution became the core of his ministry. became a noted preacher and catechist, and wandered from town to town teaching and administering the sacraments. He founded the Congregation of Holy Cross (for men), the Sisters of Holy Cross, and the Marianites of the Holy Cross. Education was his most important and lasting legacy.

He was an Italian Carmelite priest. His original name was Francesco Paoli. He was an animator and sought-after spiritual director. He dedicated himself without reserve to the poor, the sick, and the prisoners. He recognized the face of Christ in the poor. He encouraged them to have faith in God’s providence and show gratitude for their benefactors. He inspired many lay people and clergy to love the poor and the sick.
