WORKSHOP: Paper can move, flip, spin, pull, slide! This workshop will teach you or your kid exactly how to make it happen.

Learn the mechanics behind pop-up cards and books and then make your own at our hands-on paper engineering workshop
It's part instruction, part experimentation, and a lot of building.

No experience needed. Beginners welcome.

In this session, you will learn flaps, wheels, pull tabs, and more. Then use those mechanics to design your own interactive paper projects from scratch. Go home with finished pieces, a working understanding of how paper engineering works, and skills you can apply to school projects, cards, and your own creative ideas.

Pop-Up Creations: Paper Engineering for Beginners is a hands-on 2-part workshop where your kids can learn the craft behind pop-up books and cards, and then make their own! (Also open to adult beginners!)

Every session combines guided instruction with free creative time. Participants will take home:
✂️ Completed pop-up projects from both sessions
✂️ A real understanding of how paper mechanisms work
✂️ New skills for projects, handmade gifts, or just the joy of making things

The Movable Book Society Conference begins tomorrow! ✨

This is Part 3 of our artist introductions, featuring the last 8 of 24 collaborators who helped design the stamp sheet inside our passport-sized pop-up travel guide to St. Louis.

With this, our team is complete: 20 Filipino and 4 international artists, each bringing their own creative voice to the project.

At the conference I’ll be speaking, facilitating the Make & Take workshop, and unveiling the finished souvenir. I couldn’t be prouder of this group and the opportunity to showcase Filipino creativity on a global stage.
