Ideacarton is a company that have been interested in an alternative use of corrugated cardboard since the beginning of this decade. Our first pieces of corrugated cardboard furniture were designed and produced in 2000. Today our knowledge and skills are focused not only on searching for new technological solutions. In our work, we try to emphasize some social issues including reasonable and ecolog
ical awerness of the limitations in natural resources. We are sure that it is possible to keep the balance between sustainable design and style. We also believe that modern design can be “green” and it can take into consideration user's preferences, knowledge and social context in which an item influences the nearest environment. We want to focus on items and living space that are eco-friendly, being also interested in the implementation of new materials as well as innovative production methods that lead us to better cooperation with our surrounding. Surely, the ideal material which allows following this tendency in modern design is corrugated cardboard. Próbując rozwijać swoją pasję stworzyłem pracownię, która zajmuje się ręcznym wytwarzaniem mebli z tektury falistej Ideacarton Cardboard Furniture. Zainteresowanie alternatywnym wykorzystaniem tego materiału sięga początku ubiegłej dekady. Wiedza i umiejętności tworzenia z tektury ukierunkowane są na rozszerzanie i poszukiwanie nowych zagadnień związanych z wykorzystaniem tego materiału. Jestem przekonany, że można zachować równowagę pomiędzy zrównoważonym projektowaniem i stylem a współczesne projektowanie może być z natury “zielone”. Swoją uwagę chcę koncentrować na przedmiotach i przestrzeniach, które są eco-przyjazne, i które będą współgrały z naszym otoczeniem. Z pewnością materiałem, który idealnie wpisuje się w ten współczesny nurt jest tektura falista.
