Apparently I’ve been conducting my own Great American Pumpkin Bake Off for more than a decade. 🎃😂
The brief:
One pumpkin.
Ten bakes.
An unreasonable amount of cinnamon.
Absolutely no restraint.
So far we have:
🎃 Pumpkin cinnamon rolls — American-sized, obviously
🎃 Pumpkin cookies
🎃 Pumpkin muffins
🎃 Pumpkin donut muffins
🎃 Pumpkin pie
🎃 Pumpkin cheesecake
🎃 Pumpkin spice latte bars
🎃 Pumpkin espresso Bundt cake
🎃 Pumpkin coffee cake
🎃 Pumpkin challah bread
Some had excellent crumb.
Some would have received a polite little “interesting…” from the judges.
All were eaten. This is the important part.
Growing up in America, pumpkin season meant much more than carving a jack-o’-lantern. Autumn smelled like cinnamon, nutmeg, coffee, warm cake and something pumpkin baking in the oven.
Now I’m bringing a little of that American autumn magic to our farm here in Sweden.
And I am nowhere near finished.
This autumn I’ll be trying more pumpkin recipes, revisiting old favourites and seeing just how many things one woman can reasonably turn orange before November.
Follow along for the baking journey. 🎃
And if you need a contestant first, come choose your own pumpkin at Wildflower Farm, about an hour outside Gothenburg.
Pick it. Bake it. Make a core memory.
Bonus points for a good crumb. 🤎
