Studio Rebecca Hi, I’m Rebecca. I paint bold, vibrant works that tell stories of beauty, emotion, and aliveness—art that sees you, moves you, and brings your walls to life.

If that speaks to you, you’re in the right place.

Sometimes the best thing I can do for a painting is admit that it's just not working.

I originally started this idea as an oil painting. And honestly, it went to s**t. 😅 The more I tried to fix it, the worse it got.

Eventually I gave up trying to save it and went back to my sketchbook.

I redrew the composition, played around with it again, and started this little watercolor because I wanted to figure out the colour palette before attempting the oil painting again.

But then something unexpected happened: I really loved the watercolor.

It was never supposed to become an artwork of its own. It was just me trying to solve another painting.

And now I have my little Bee Queen. 🐝

The oil painting is still sitting there waiting for me. I might go back to it. I probably will. But I'm actually really glad it failed, because otherwise this one wouldn't exist.

Have you ever made something better completely by accident?

Queen bee is available. If she speaks to you, send a DM for details 🐝

I painted the Greek goddess of grief.
Her name is Oizys — goddess of misery, anxiety, and grief.

I don't want to wallow in it. But I think grief deserves to be felt, not rushed past. There's beauty in endings, and comfort in letting go.

This watercolour is what that feeling looks like to me.

➡️ Curious about the process or the myth? Ask below — I'll answer in my next video.

I didn't paint my Grief. Grief painted this.

There were days grief had me stuck on the couch, replaying the same thought until it ate the whole day.

People kept telling me to paint my emotions. I didn't know what that meant — I just knew sitting still with it wasn't working anymore.

So I started painting without a plan. The feelings came out on their own. I didn't have to figure anything out first.

This is what came out of it. Her name is Oizys.

Most people never become who they are meant to be, because they wait untill they are ready.

Ready to speak up.
Ready to begin.
Ready to be good enough.
Ready to be confident.
Ready to the right thing.
Ready to post.
Ready to walk away.

But confidence usually comes after repetition -
Not before.

Every artist you admire once made terrible work. And they probably still do.

Every skilled person in anything once felt inexperienced.

Every meaningful path was paved with uncertainty and doubt.

Excellence is not where you start

It's what happens to you, when you keep showing up anyway.
