During a regular healing Kintsugi session yesterday, the lady who broke and mended this beautiful bronze plate had a deep profound reflection to share about her father :

‘The cracks taught me that my father had been very patient with me.
I made many mistakes growing up
but my father never scolded me. He didn’t get upset with me.
He allowed me to make those mistakes.
He was always there to catch me when I fell’

The cracks showed me that while life could break me and bring me to my knees, my father would always be there to help make me whole again.

Very rarely do I hear a participant reflect about her father who had left such a deep impact on her growing up years.

Hope it leaves a lasting impression on you too ❤️

Love,
Nilo

Every Kintsugi piece takes hours of careful mending. From patiently joining each fragment together to waiting for the adhesive to cure, every step is done slowly and intentionally. So by the time it’s ready to head home, we want to make sure it arrives safely. 💛

We always tell our staff to wrap each piece with care...

One of them simply took that instruction a little too literally. 😂📦

It’s not everyday I get to restore such an intricate piece of art!

This Christmas Tree is the artwork of ceramic artist Floridia Salvatore- from Sicily, Italy. A few intricate bits are broken during the transportation of this beautiful piece and I feel fortunate to be able to restore its beauty. The Kintsugi lines blend seamlessly into the structure, and I must say it does add more character to this masterpiece!

Don’t you agree? 😊🎄

One of the most profound statement during reflection in my Kintsugi workshop yesterday. Very moving and something that all of us can relate to.

The cracks become the places where different forces meet. They can represent the conflict between:
* who society tells you to be (successful, perfect, productive, conventional), and
* who you genuinely long to become (creative, compassionate, adventurous, peaceful, authentic).

The cracks are not simply signs of damage—they are the visible record of the choices you’ve made. Every golden seam can symbolize a moment when you decided whether to live according to someone else’s expectations or according to your own values.

Kintsugi doesn’t erase either choice. It joins them with gold, reminding us that our most meaningful life is often found where we have the courage to bridge the gap between expectation and authenticity.

Broken made even more Beautiful ❤️

I’m excited to be launching 𝐊𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐬𝐮𝐠𝐢 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐚 𝐂𝐚𝐮𝐬𝐞, a one-day sale of finished Kintsugi pieces. 100% of proceeds will be donated to Samaritans of Singapore (SOS)- an organisation dedicated to su***de prevention and emotional support.

The event will be held on 𝟏𝟎 𝐎𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 in conjunction with World Mental Health Day. It’s a small way of showing support for those affected by mental health challenges, their loved ones, and the important work that SOS does every day. I hope you’ll join me in supporting this meaningful cause.

If you’re available to volunteer on the day, I’d be so grateful for your help. Tasks are simple and include packing purchases and assisting with payments. If you’d like to volunteer your time, please send me a DM or WhatsApp me at 9859 5349.

Team IKEA came together for a Kintsugi team bonding workshop last month!

It was wonderful to see everyone navigate the mending process together, encourage one another along the way, and end the session by sharing their reflections.

Their beautifully restored pieces are now off for a greater purpose. They will be sold, with all proceeds donated to Samaritans of Singapore (SOS) to support the meaningful work they do for individuals and families in need. Stay tuned for more details of this charity fair and find out how you can support us! 😊

A small act of mending, creating a ripple of hope.

It’s always a good idea to Kintsugi ~

I could go on about all the benefits, but some things are best experienced for yourself.😊

Come mend, slow down, and see what it leaves you with.💛
