Irregular lines Theodora Martinou -Designer Our natural world is simply loaded with potentially creative elements. Land, rocks, tree, water, sky_all hold universal images.

Think of all the combinations you can get from these five alone. Beside the variety of ways these elements can be individually mixed, matched, watched and reinterpreted is mind boggling. Like the family of man,the world of wildlife, abstraction, and all the other genres, the choices are infinite. Simply put, for those of us who choose it, the element of landscape offer a kind of life _ enhancing enrichment as well as challenging opportunities for the development of style.

Colour is communication.

And colour plays a big part in that.
Terracotta creates warmth and invites connection.
Deep green brings a sense of calm and grounding.
Charcoal adds depth and quiet sophistication.
Soft sand softens natural light and creates a relaxed, timeless atmosphere.

As designers, we don’t choose colours simply because they’re beautiful.
We choose them because they support the purpose of the space and the experience we want people to have.

If you’re planning a space and feeling overwhelmed by colour choices, I’d be happy to guide you through the design process.

A well-designed Bohemian home is built on intention. Every colour, material, texture, and piece of furniture has a purpose. Together, they create a space that feels warm, personal, and lived in not simply styled.

That’s why the best Bohemian interiors aren’t created in a single shopping trip. They’re layered over time with natural materials, handcrafted pieces, and objects that tell your story.

If you’re planning a space like this, I’d be happy to guide you through the design process.

Colour in an office is more than a visual choice.

It can influence the atmosphere of a space, how people experience it, and how different areas of the workplace function.

What needs to feel focused?
Where should people feel more energised?
Which areas are meant for collaboration?
Where do we want people to slow down and reset?

Colour, natural materials, lighting and texture can work together to create a workplace that feels focused, welcoming and human.

Planning an office space? I’d be happy to help you create a workplace that works for the people in it.

Every project begins with a different brief, but the process always starts in the same place.

Listening.

Understanding how the space will be used.

Asking the right questions before making any design decisions.

Whether I’m designing a home, a hospitality space, an exhibition, or sourcing bespoke pieces, my role is to bring clarity to the process. From the first conversation to the final installation, every decision should support the purpose of the space.

Good design isn’t just creating something beautiful, but creating something that works, lasts, and feels right for the people using it.

If you’re planning a project and wondering where to begin, I’d be happy to have a conversation.

Some spaces stop you mid-scroll.

Because they have a feeling that’s hard to describe.

We’re naturally drawn to spaces with warmth, layered textures, handcrafted pieces, and materials that age beautifully. Spaces that feel collected over time rather than decorated overnight.

These aren’t Irregular Lines projects, they’re part of the visual language that continues to inspire our work and reflects the atmosphere we love creating.

Whether we’re designing a home, a restaurant, or curating bespoke furniture, the goal is always the same: to create spaces with character, depth, and a sense of belonging.

If these spaces resonate with you, there’s a good chance we’ll speak the same design language.

Design inspiration rarely arrives at my desk.

More often, I find it while walking through a city, visiting an exhibition, noticing the grain of a piece of timber, or watching how light moves across a textured wall.

As an interior designer, I’ve learned that inspiration isn’t something you wait for, it’s something you learn to notice.

These small observations become part of a growing collection of ideas. Over time, they shape the spaces we design, the materials we choose, and the bespoke pieces we curate.

Whether it’s a home, a hospitality project, or a custom interior, every project begins long before the first drawing. It begins with curiosity.

What’s the last detail that made you stop and look a little longer?

When people think of coastal design, they often picture blue and white palettes, seashells, and nautical décor.

To me, that’s only a small part of it.

A coastal-inspired space is about creating a calm and welcoming atmosphere through thoughtful design decisions. It starts with a light palette inspired by nature, layered with natural materials like rattan, linen, timber, and stone. Instead of filling a space with themed decorations, let texture, light, and a few carefully chosen details create the character.

These principles aren’t limited to homes by the sea. They can be applied to a residence, a café, a restaurant, or any space where you want people to feel relaxed and connected to their surroundings.

The best coastal-inspired spaces don’t imitate the coast. They capture the feeling of it.

Some pieces become bestsellers because they’re trendy.

This isn’t one of them.

The Effie Rattan Lampshade M continues to be one of our most requested pieces because it does more than provide light. It adds warmth, texture, and a softer atmosphere that works across many different spaces.

Its handwoven rattan brings natural character during the day, while the woven pattern creates a gentle glow once the lights are on.

Whether you’re designing a home, a restaurant, or a hospitality space, it’s one of those pieces that feels considered without trying too hard.

Ever seen a designer climb a ladder on site?

Most people associate interior design with mood boards, material samples, and beautifully finished spaces.

But the real work continues long after the drawings are approved.

Site visits are where we inspect every detail, solve problems before they become costly, and work closely with contractors to ensure the design is carried through with precision.

Design doesn’t end when the drawings are complete. Site involvement is how we maintain quality throughout the project.

Colour is one of the decisions people worry about the most.

They’re not afraid of colour itself. They’re afraid of choosing the wrong one.

The truth is, a colour doesn’t exist on its own. It changes depending on the natural light, the materials around it, and how the space is used.

That’s why I never start by asking, “What colour do you like?”

I start by asking, “How do you want the space to feel?”

Once you know that, choosing the right palette becomes much easier.

Whether you prefer subtle neutrals or something bolder, colour should support the atmosphere you’re trying to create, not compete with it.

The best spaces aren’t remembered because they followed trends. They’re remembered because they feel right for the people using them.
